Number Twelve
The Frights are a rock band from San Diego, CA. I've been following them since they put out their Fur Sure EP last year, and then their self-titled debut album. They recently put out a single titled "Tongues/Puppy Knuckles".
There's something about their blend of old and new that really works. Their music is soaked in freaky reverb, with the vocals reverberating everywhere and guitar chords piercing through, drum beats getting lost in the frenzy. It feels like an old teen movie, where the main characters are slow dancing, and suddenly the lead singer of the band is taken over by some demon. It's awesome.
